Although it is not comparable in size to stations such as Milan Centrale or Rome Termini, Trieste Centrale train station services many trains and busses to assist passengers from all over the world.

The station has high-speed Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains, as well as regional connections for passengers traveling through Trieste and to the city.  Trieste Centrale also has international options to service customers who wish to travel north to Austria and Germany.  

In 2007, Trieste Centrale was renovated, and now includes a brand new passenger center to better accommodate passenger needs. This center features amenities such as new ticket offices, passenger waiting area, bar/restaurant, shopping mall, and a pharmacy.
