Como San Giovanni Train Station Guide

Although small, Como San Giovanni station with just four platforms is a key rail stop to get to the gorgeous shores of Lake Como.

Como San Giovanni Train Station

Como San Giovanni train station has four tracks and is used by only two lines, but they are important regional lines. This is one end of the Como-Lecco line, and the final Italian station on the Milan-Chiasso line before the train crosses the border into Switzerland to arrive at Chiasso station. Roughly 1.5 million people pass through the station each year.

Though Como San Giovanni has multiple levels, only the ground level is used by passengers. On this level you’ll find ticket sales, tourist information, restrooms, and places to shop or get a bite to eat. There are no luggage storage facilities at the Como train station.

Outside the train station is a bus station from which you can not only reach central Como but also other cities around Lake Como.
