Attention Venice Travelers

Starting April 25, 2024, on specified days (listed below), the city of Venice will charge a €5 access fee to all visitors ages 14 and up who wish to enter the historic area of the city between the hours of 8:30 am and 4 pm.

 

Check to see if you plan to visit the historic area of Venice on the following dates:

  • April 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30

  • May 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26

  • June 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30

  • July 6, 7, 13, 14

Am I exempt from paying?

To see if you may be exempt from paying the fee, check this link for exemptions. If your accommodation is located in the Municipality of Venice you are exempt from the day of arrival to the day of departure; however, you have to request an exemption.

 

What area is considered the historic city?

The access fee will be charged to anyone wishing to enter the area marked "1" on the map below:

 

 

Why is the City of Venice charging an access fee?

The access fee is an attempt to make tourism more sustainable by limiting overcrowding.
