Description
Your adventure begins bright and early as you board a high-speed train from Rome to Florence — slicing your travel time in half and doubling your time for discovery. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your guide for a walking tour that breathes life into the golden age of the Renaissance.
Stroll the cobblestone streets once walked by Michelangelo and Machiavelli. Gaze up at the striking dome of the Florence Duomo, admire the Baptistry’s gilded “Gates of Paradise,” and soak up the atmosphere in Piazza della Signoria. You'll pass the Uffizi Museum and peek at the secret Vasari Corridor — the Medici’s private path through the city — before stopping for classic views of the Ponte Vecchio spanning the Arno River.
From Florence, trade marble for vineyards as you travel into the heart of Tuscany. At a boutique winery near San Gimignano, you'll enjoy an intimate tasting of DOCG wines — including a deep dive into what makes a wine “Super-Tuscan.” Each pour is paired with local specialties: cured meats, cheeses, rustic breads, and estate-made olive oil, all capped off with a traditional first course. It’s a perfect blend of flavors and stories passed down through generations.
Your final stop is San Gimignano — the “Medieval Manhattan” — where 14 stone towers still punctuate the skyline. You’ll have time to wander its narrow lanes, browse artisanal shops, and maybe indulge in a scoop of award-winning gelato before returning to Florence for your train back to Rome.
