Description
Once sleepy fishing hamlets, the towns along the Amalfi Coast are now magnets for international travelers — and with that popularity comes gridlock. Thankfully, there’s a better way to explore this stunning stretch of coastline. Our journey begins in Rome, where you’ll hop aboard a high-speed train that zips you down to Salerno in style — complete with legroom, onboard refreshments, and Wi-Fi.
In Salerno, your guide will lead the way from the station to the ferry pier for a scenic cruise along the coastline. With the cliffs and colorful villages rising dramatically from the sea, you’ll get a perspective of the Amalfi Coast that road-trippers miss entirely. Your first stop is Positano — a vertical village full of charm, beachside cafés, and boutiques tucked into winding alleys. Spend the morning how you like: swim in the Mediterranean or browse the local artisan shops. Then relax over lunch before catching the next ferry to Amalfi.
Amalfi is the coastline’s namesake and heart — bustling with life, beauty, and history. Your guide will orient you with a short stroll past the town’s iconic 11th-century cathedral, followed by a visit to a local shop for a limoncello tasting. Afterward, enjoy time on your own to shop, stroll, or hit the beach.
Wrap up the day with a ferry ride back to Salerno, catching glimpses of Minori, Maiori, Cetara, and Ravello from the water — a parting gift from the coast. Your guide will walk you back to the train station just in time for your return to Rome, relaxed and full of sun-soaked memories.
