Don’t miss the Milan Expo, this year’s world’s fair in Italy.
With more than 140 countries represented, planning what to see, do and—most importantly—eat at the Milan Expo 2015 (May 1—Oct 1), this year’s food-themed world fair, is no small feat. But, reaching the Expo site—110 hectares northwest of the city center—is as easy as pie.
As the official global rail partner for Expo 2015, Trenitalia has allotted 236 daily trains, of which 148 are high-speed Freccia trains, that all disembark at one final destination: the Rho Fiera Milano Expo 2015 station. That’s 130,000 seats per day! View the schedule and book your tickets here.
For those planning to de-board in the city center, the M1 Metro (red line) stops at Rho Fiera, just a 25-minute underground ride from Piazza del Duomo.
Between the event site itself and the city’s downtown happenings, Milan is abuzz with Expo Fever. From a pop-up restaurant to innovative architecture to the “Nessun Dorma” aria, it’s no wonder it seems like the whole world is planning a visit to Italy in Summer-Fall 2015.
