The Elipsos Trenhotel runs on 4 main routes across Europe, which are:

  1. Milan – Barcelona, the trenhotel ‘Salvador Dali’
  2. Paris – Madrid, the trenhotel ‘Francisco de Goya’
  3. Paris – Barcelona, the trenhotel ‘Joan Miro’
  4. Zurich – Barcelona, the trenhotel ‘Pau Casals’

A Restaurant car is of course on this train, and you will enjoy eating at this authentic restaurant while you are travelling!

Services are guaranteed by multilingual staff, who will take care of you from the moment you step on board – after trying this service you will never want to travel on a regular overnight service again! Pass holders are accepted and get a reduced & discounted rate, so if you have a Eurail or Interrail Pass this is a great way to enjoy some luxury while you explore Europe.

The train connnecting Italy and Spain is called ‘Salvador Dali’, and is a wonderful way of traveling between these two mediterranean countries.

Trenhotel Elipsos service availability:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Milan/Novara/Turin to Barcelona, Gerona and Figueras.
  • Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from Barcelona, Gerona and Figueras to Turin/Novara/ Milan.

Rules:

  • There is a no smoking policy onboard this train
  • All Italian tickets, both domestic and cross border must be validated at the machines on the platform before use. Failure to do this will result in a fine of up to 200 Euros.

Inside Italy to receive discounts based on age, the following qualifications must be met:
Senior:Train operators in Italy do not offer a discount for Seniors.
Youth:Train operators in Italy do not offer a discount for Youths.
Child:To qualify for Child fares, passengers must be aged between 4 and 11 years inclusive
To receive discounts based on number of people travelling together please be aware that only groups of 10 adult people (2 children = 1 adult) will be entitled to a variable discount depending on train type, journey and date of travel.

Please be aware that the system will automatically calculate any child or group discount you might be entitled to; no Senior or Youth discounts can be bought for single tickets purchased outside of Italy; Senior, Youth and Child discounts are bookable for railpasses covering Italy, please choose the relevant option at the time of booking.
This option is for customers who have previously purchased a pass or open ticket, but wish to travel on a train where a reservation is required.

A pass or open ticket does not guarantee a seat on such trains.

In Italy, most trains require a reservation. Check with the rail operator you wish to use if you are not sure whether a reservation is required.
